Update an evergreen post with AI

The Update button in the editor: what it drafts (FAQs, a facts table, fresh paragraphs, internal links, a table of contents), what it costs, and how to review it before anything is saved.

Evergreen posts — guides that stay true for years — get stale in small ways: a missing FAQ section, a table nobody added, last year's date in the text, a paragraph that says the same thing twice. The Update button in the post editor looks for exactly that and drafts the fixes.

What it does

1. Reads the post: its headings, its text, and what it already has.
2. Drafts what is missing: FAQs a reader would ask, a facts table from facts already in the text, one or two Updated paragraphs with the current month and year, related words with internal links to other posts of yours, and a table of contents.
3. Checks its own work against the post and drops anything that repeats what is already there.

What it costs

Three AI requests per run (analyse, draft, check). The panel says so before anything starts, and tells you how many requests you have left that day. A post that reads like dated news gets a warning first, because the Evergreen Renewer is often the better tool for those.

Review before you save

• Every group can be ticked or unticked, and FAQ answers are editable before they are inserted.
• Internal links are only offered for words that really are in your text, and only to posts of your own site. A link the AI made up is dropped.
• Cleanups (a section that says the same thing twice, a stray leftover line) are listed for you to apply one by one. Nothing is removed automatically.
• The result is inserted into the editor unsaved: review it, then save. One click on Undo puts the post back exactly as it was.
