Troubleshooting: fix the most common problems

Titles printed twice, scores that do not move, AI buttons that do nothing, error 401, 429, 502 and 503, Google not connecting, redirects not working, sitemap and robots.txt surprises, and how to ask for help.

I see two titles or descriptions on a page

Another SEO plugin is still active, or a cache is serving an old page. OnlyAI SEO prints no title or description tags while another SEO plugin is active, so the extras come from elsewhere. Deactivate the other SEO plugin (after importing from it), clear your cache, and view the page source again.

A score does not change after I edit a post

• Scores refresh every time you save, not while you type. Press Update.
• On a page-builder page, save in the builder; the checks read the page as last saved there.
• Press Re-scan all posts on the Overview to grade everything again.

The AI buttons do nothing or say "connect"

• Check Settings, OnlyAI Cloud: it must say Connected, with your plan and requests left. Connect guide.
• 401: the key is wrong or revoked. Make a new one in the dashboard.
• 429: you used your daily requests. The plugin says when the next one frees up.
• 502: the AI engine failed or timed out. Try again; it was not counted.
• 503: OnlyAI Cloud is not available. Try later. Check onlyaiseo.com/api/health.

"Write with AutoArticle AI" says to install something

Writing new articles needs the separate AutoArticle AI plugin, installed, active, connected and subscribed, version 2.5.466 or newer. Setup guide. Everything else in OnlyAI SEO works without it.

Google will not connect, or the agents say they have no data

• Allow both permissions on Google's page. A warning about an unverified app can be continued past.
• The Google account must have your site in Search Console. Guide.
• Search Console needs a few days of history. Press refresh on Insights the next day.

A redirect does not work

• Test it in a private browser window; browsers cache 301s hard.
• Include the language prefix on a multilingual site.
• A rule cannot point at itself, and loops are refused. Check Redirects for a paused rule.
• A page cache or the host's own rules may answer first. Redirect guide.

The sitemap or robots.txt is not what I expect

• Another SEO plugin may already build the sitemap; then OnlyAI SEO does not build a second one.
• A real robots.txt file in your site folder overrides the editor and the AI-crawler rules. Discourage search engines in Settings, Reading blocks everything.
• Pages marked noindex are left out of the sitemap on purpose.

The .htaccess editor is read-only or missing

Your server is not Apache or LiteSpeed, your wp-config.php turns off file editing, or you are not an administrator (a super admin on a network). Guide.
