Connect OnlyAI Cloud: get a free key and switch on the AI buttons
Create a free account, make an API key, paste it into the plugin, and understand the daily limit. Includes what each error message means.

What you need
- The plugin installed and active
- An email address for a free account (no card needed)
Scoring, the Overview, the Inbox and the agents all run on your own site and need no account. The AI buttons (title and description ideas, content ideas, link suggestions, image alt text, the wording in 1-click SEO) are answered by OnlyAI Cloud, and that needs a key.
Step 1: create a free account and a key
- Go to onlyaiseo.com/signup and create an account. No credit card.
- Open Dashboard, API keys and press Create key. Label it with your site's address so you can tell keys apart.
- Press Copy key. (The page never displays the key; the button puts it on your clipboard. You can copy it again later while you are signed in.)
Step 2: paste it into the plugin
- In WordPress open OnlyAI SEO, Settings. The first card is OnlyAI Cloud.
- Paste the key (it starts with
hub_) and press Connect. - The plugin checks it at once and shows your plan and how many requests are left today.
What an AI request is
- The free plan includes 10 AI requests a day for the whole account. All your keys and all your sites share them. Plans.
- The day is a rolling 24 hours: a request frees up 24 hours after it was used.
- 1-click SEO is one request, however much it fills in. Failed requests are not counted.
- Scoring, the agents' own runs and the connection test use none.
Use one key on several sites
You can paste the same key on every site you run, or make one key per site (up to 3 on the free plan). On a WordPress network, a super admin can set the key once for every site: multisite setup.
If something goes wrong
- 401: missing or invalid key. The key was copied with a space, was revoked, or belongs to another account. Make a new one.
- 429: daily limit reached. Wait for older requests to age out, or upgrade under Dashboard, Billing. The plugin tells you when the next request frees up.
- 502: the AI engine failed or timed out. Try again in a moment. It was not counted.
- 503: OnlyAI Cloud is not available. The service is restarting. Try again later; your posts and scores are not affected. Check onlyaiseo.com/api/health for yes or no on each part.
Want to test a key without WordPress? Run curl -H "Authorization: Bearer hub_YOUR_KEY" https://onlyaiseo.com/wp-json/onlyai-hub/v1/ping. The details are in the setup guide.
