What you need
- The plugin installed
- At least a few published posts to link to
Internal links tell readers and search engines which of your pages belong together. They are also the easiest SEO work to put off, because finding the right post means remembering everything you ever wrote. The plugin does the remembering, with no AI and no cost for the editor suggestions.
1. While you write: link suggestions
- Open the post in the block editor and the Post tab in the sidebar.
- Find the Link suggestions (OnlyAI SEO) panel.
- It lists your other posts that your text already talks about, with the exact words to link and an Add link button. Posts that nothing links to yet come first.
- Press Add link on the ones that make sense.
2. With one click
1-click SEO adds up to three links to your own posts so the post has about three in all. Each link goes on words already in the text, in a different paragraph. With OnlyAI Cloud connected, the same single AI request also picks related posts whose topic the text mentions in different words; every pick is checked to be a real published post before it is used.
3. After you publish: links from older posts
A new post that nothing links to is hard to find. After 1-click SEO on a published post, the result lists older posts that could link to it. Press Add link in that post on the ones you like. WordPress keeps a revision of that older post, so you can undo it from its history. It works in block-editor posts and classic-editor posts; pages built with a page builder are skipped.
4. Let the Link Builder agent find gaps
The Link Builder agent looks across the whole site for posts that never mention a related post of yours although the words for a link are already in the text. Open OnlyAI SEO, Inbox, find a Link Builder card and press Add this link. It wraps those exact words, keeps a revision, never links inside headings or existing links, and refuses if the text changed or the target is no longer published.
5. Sponsored and UGC links
WordPress already lets you mark a link nofollow. With the cursor inside a link, the Link type button in the toolbar adds the other two values Google asks for: sponsored (paid and affiliate links) and ugc (links your visitors wrote).
6. See your links in the post list
In Posts, open Screen Options and tick Links. Each row shows how many posts link to this one, how many of your own pages it links to and how many outside links it has, with a warning on posts that nothing links to. More on the list.
A rule of thumb
- Link on words that describe the other page, never on "click here".
- Two or three relevant links beat ten forced ones.
- Link to your cornerstone posts first (mark them in the Search & social panel).
- Every new post should get at least one link from an older post.
