Update OnlyAI SEO: automatic updates, manual updates and how it is verified

Update from the Plugins screen, turn automatic updates on, update by uploading a zip, and how the download is checked. Includes how to switch the update check off.

From the Plugins screen

WordPress shows new versions of OnlyAI SEO on Plugins (and on Dashboard, Updates) with an Update now button, View details and the automatic-updates switch, like any other plugin. Press Update now.

Automatic updates

On the Plugins screen, press Enable auto-updates next to OnlyAI SEO. WordPress then installs new versions by itself.

By hand

1. Download the new zip from the home page.
2. Open Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose the zip and press Install Now.
3. WordPress offers Replace current with uploaded. Press it.

How the download is checked

The download comes from onlyaiseo.com over https and is checked against a SHA-256 fingerprint we publish. If it does not match, nothing is installed. The check, twice a day, sends only the plugin, WordPress and PHP versions: no site address, no account, no key.

Switch the update check off

Add define('ONLYAI_SEO_DISABLE_UPDATER', true); to wp-config.php. You can still upload the zip by hand.
