1-click SEO: what it fixes in one press, and what it leaves to you
12 October 2026 · 3 min read
Exactly what the 1-click SEO button does in the editor: keyword, title, description, URL, alt text, headings, table of contents, FAQ, internal links and tags, with undo for all of it.
The 1-click SEO button sits in the block editor's top bar. Press it and the plugin works through a checklist, changes what it can change safely, and shows you what it did and what is still yours to do. Everything happens in the editor's unsaved state: nothing is final until you press Update, and Undo everything restores the post as it was.
What it changes
- Focus keyword. If there is none, it picks one from your title and text (or from the AI, when you have connected OnlyAI Cloud).
- SEO title and meta description. Rewritten to the right length with the keyword in them, when the current ones are missing, too long or too short.
- URL. A shorter address with the keyword. On a post that is already published it only suggests the new address, because changing a live URL is your decision (WordPress redirects the old one).
- Image alt text. Written for images that have none, from the file name, the caption and the text around the image.
- Headings. An H1 inside the body becomes an H2, because the post title is already the page's H1.
- Table of contents. Added straight before your first H2 or H3, on any post with three or more of them.
- FAQ block. Built from your question headings. If the post already ends with a "Quick Answers" or FAQ section, that section is moved into the FAQ block, your wording and links are kept, and up to two more questions are added.
- Internal links. Up to three links to your other posts, each in a different paragraph, on words already in the text. How they are chosen.
- Tags. Up to five: tags your site already has that the text mentions, then a few new ones when the cloud is connected.
What it will not do
- It does not write your article or add facts. Text, images and claims stay yours.
- It does not publish or save. You press Update.
- It does not touch the text of a page built with a page builder; there it sets the title, description, keyword and URL and leaves the page to the builder.
- It does not add a link inside a heading or inside a link that is already there.
One AI request, however much it fills in
With OnlyAI Cloud connected, the wording of the keyword, title, description, alt text, FAQ answers, related posts and tags comes from one AI request. Without the cloud, plain rules write the wording and the button still works, only less cleverly. The result tells you which one you got and how many requests you have left in the last 24 hours.
A score that moves
The report shows the score before and after (for example 54 to 77) and lists what still needs you: a keyword in a subheading, a missing image, a long paragraph. Those are the things a button cannot honestly do for you.
After it has run
On a published post the report also lists older posts that could link to this one, with the exact words in each. One click adds the link to that older post and WordPress keeps a revision of it. This is the part of internal linking that moves rankings most, and it is the one most people skip.
