How it works

Connect Search Console and Google Analytics with one sign-in

12 October 2026 · 2 min read

How OnlyAI SEO connects Search Console and Google Analytics 4 in one step, what it asks Google for, what we never see, and how to disconnect.

Search Console tells you which searches show your pages and how often they are clicked. Google Analytics 4 tells you what visitors do next. Connecting both used to mean creating a project in Google Cloud and copying keys around. Now it is one button.

What you do

  1. Open OnlyAI SEO, Settings, Google, and press Connect with Google.
  2. On Google's own page, allow the two read-only permissions (you can untick either one).
  3. Come back. The plugin finds your Search Console property (the whole-domain one, or the address that matches your site) and your GA4 property (the one whose web stream is your site) on its own, tests both with a real request and shows the result, for example "Works. 12 clicks from Google in the last week".

If your site cannot be matched, the card lists what your Google account has and you pick. If you unticked a box, an API is off or the account has no property, it says so in plain words.

What it can see

  • Search Console, read-only: which searches show your pages, clicks, impressions and positions.
  • Google Analytics 4, read-only: visits, engaged visits and views for each page, for the last 28 days against the 28 before.
  • It cannot change anything in either account, and we never see your Google password.

Where your data goes

The sign-in passes through onlyaiseo.com only to hand your site its Google access. It is held encrypted for a few minutes, collected once by your site and deleted; it is never stored or logged on our side. The Search Console and Analytics numbers go from Google straight to your site.

What the numbers feed

  • Refresher (posts losing clicks), Keyword Scout (searches that deserve a page), CTR Fixer (ranking well but rarely clicked), Cannibalization Resolver and Rank Digest
  • The Content Insights page, which shows the GA4 total and its change
  • The Indexation Center, which can show Google's index status per post

Prefer your own Google app?

Under Advanced, "Use a Google app of your own" lets you connect with your own Google Cloud project. Google may also show a warning screen for an app it has not yet verified; you can continue past it. To stop at any time, press Disconnect in the plugin (it also withdraws the permission at Google) or remove OnlyAI SEO under "Third-party apps with account access" in your Google Account.
